mouse over and pictures

Is it possible to display and subsequently hide a picture when you move the
mouse over a word? I have a bulleted list of about 6 words and I want a
different picture to appear as the mouse is moved over each word.

That can be achieved with animation effects, not on mouseover though but on
click. First give the bulleted list an entrance effect. Then select your
first picture and also give it an entrance effect. Move the picture effect
to just below the first bulleted list animation and format it to appear on
click (or if you want it to show simultaneaously with previous). Select the
second picture and apply an entrance effect, move it just below the second
bullet point and format it to appear after previous. Now select the first
picture again apply an exit effect, drag the effect just below the entrance
effect of the second picture and format it to start with previous.
Repeat the whole scenario as needed.

As well as what Luc said you can also use mouseovers to trigger a hyperlink
(but not an animation which would be a nice addition!) If you use this
hyperlink to move to a duplicate slide + the picture then it will look like
an animation. You will need to add mouseover triggers to return to the
original so that when the mouse moves off the shape the picture appears to
disappear. Another option is to hyperlink to a custom show you can then click
to end this show and return, With a bit of thought you can use this method to
get entrance and exit animations

I've uploaded a demo to http://wwwPPTAlchemy.co.uk/testing.html for you to
look at. The horse uses method 2
