mouse quirk

BlankMy Dell (Logitech) Wheel Mouse is acting strangely when I scroll a page with by the scroll arrows or with the wheel. The page scrolls jerky when I use the arrows, but it scrolls with a very annoying wavy action with the wheel. I've looked everywhere for a setting, but I've not been able to find one to eliminate the problem. Any ideas anyone?

Running Dell 4550 Win XP Home OS.

I notice that there's no response to my question. Is this the wrong NG for
the question?

Probably the wrong group. Not sure there is a hardware
group here. One suggestion, though, is to dry a new mouse
driver. Go to the Dell Logitech web site to look for
more information. A slightly more extreme option is to
unistall and reinstall the mouse. See Windows Help or the
Help files that came with your computer for more
information.

Thank you so much for you response, Bruce. Also, thank you for your
suggestions. Sometimes a 70+ year old feels a little intimidated with the PC
generation. Kudos to you and you have a nice holiday season.!

Best regards,
Bill (Wm Hines, Florida)
