Mouse Scroll Wheel ignored by Office 2007

M

Michael Faklis

I installed Office 200 Pro, and it ignores the scroll wheel on my mouse.
The scroll wheel worked with Office XP, and it still works with Windows XP
Pro windows explorer and internet explorer. How can I get Office 2007 to
respect the scroll wheel?

What mouse do you have?
Do you have the latest mouse driver for it?

All Office 2007 applications. I have no problem with other apps, including

Can you try using the Microsoft driver for the mouse? Remove the HP one
and see if Windows can provide you with one for it.

There seems to be two drivers involved. One from HP for the HP Wireless
Rechargeable Optical Mouse (HID) version 2.3.0.0, and one from Microsoft for
an HID-compliant mouse, version 5.1.2600.0.

The trick seems to be in the mouse control panel applet, to set the wheel to
"Use Microsoft Office 97 Scrolling Emulation Only", rather than "Enable
Universal Scrolling".

I still question why my mouse wheel was working with Office XP and not for
Office 2007.

Hi - I can't believe it - I actually fixed it myself:
go to start-all programs-samsung-setting-wheel. Change mode to default
instead of enhanced.

good luck!
