Move a Column Off the Y Axis

P

I have a combination chart where a single column plotted over two area series
(each has two equal-value data points). The plot area is colored green,
series1 is yellow, and series2 is red. The idea is to have the column move
up and down the chart, in and out of the three colored bands. This works
except the column is next to the Y axis. Is there a way to move the column
to the right where the color bands would show on both sides of the column?

Option 1: Add a secondary x-axis (that is where the column chart should
land up). Now, format the axis so that 'Value (Y) axis crosses between
categories' is selected.

option 2: Create the column from a three cell range, with the 1st and
the 3d being empty cells.
