Move Actual Values to another Resource

My Enterprise Resource Pool has some duplicate resources with actual work
attributed to them. I am attempting to consolidate the work into one
resource and delete the duplicate. Is there a way to move actual work from
one resource to another? I am using MS Project 2003.

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to do this, then I have bad news
for you, my friend. There is NO quick and easy way to do this. What you
would need to do is to open every project containing the duplicate resource,
then click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise, and add to the project team
the correpsonding matching resource for the duplicate resource. Then, you
would need to filter the task list using the Using Resource... filter to
find all tasks assigned to the duplicate resource and then select all of
those tasks. Finally, click the Assign Resources button to display the
Assign Resources dialog, in the dialog select the name of the duplicate
resource, click the Replace button, select the name of the corresponding
matching resource and click the OK button. This process would transfer the
Actual Work and Remaining Work from the duplicate resource to the matching
resource.

You would need to repeat these steps in EVERY project for that one duplicate
resource. Then you would need to repeat these same steps for every
additional duplicate resource. This process would take a lot of time. Only
you can decide if the time is worth it in the long run. Hope this helps.

You are more than welcome, my friend! I'm glad to know it worked, even if
it was a lot of work. :)
