rifleman,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, this didn't quite do it. Copying
over the PST file over got all my mail messages, etc., but my address book
didn't come over for some reason. When I attempt to open the address book
I get this error:
"The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or
deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove
this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Outlook Help."
Egads. I'm not sure what folder it's actually referring to, perhaps the
'Contacts' folder (?).
What step am I missing?
PS:
MICROSOFT: If you're listening, it's a travesty that moving contact
infomration and email from one machine to another should be this obtuse.
It *should* be as simple as copying a file or subdiretory - and it should be
an obvious and simple operation to perform. From day one, a user should
have the comfort of knowing that s/he can save everything and easily restore
it later - as a fully transparent operation: i.e., copy a file or
subdiretory to another network share, floppy or CD.
