move fields/controls in a form

In Access 2003 and earlier, I used to be able to select fields/controls in
design view and move them around in a form - in the 2007 version I seem to be
unable to do that - I am guessing I am missing something simple and would
appreciate any help!

Thank you!

If you create a form from scratch in design view by clicking the form design
button on the Create menu, you can do it. However if you select the Form
button it will place the controls on the form for you and lock them together
for some reason. I don't understand it except to think that whoever
invented the ribbon all design that. Sometimes you just need to scratch
your head and move on.

God Bless,

Thank you; I was afraid that was going to be the answer - sometimes "new"
does not mean "better"; I appreciate your help very much!

In 2007 the controls, such as textboxes, on a form are set up so that by
default they're all "associated" for want of a better word. When you move one
of them you move all of them. But don't despair, you can disassociate them.
Unfortunately, I don't run v2007 and don't remember how you do this! Sorry!
But be patient and someone who does know how will wander thru and help you.

itsto do with the new layout features. In design view, select the controls
you want to disassociate and on the arrange tab under form designtools click
"Remove" under Control layout
