Move message with follow-up

While I have items in process, I move them to a 'Pending' folder. Is it
possible to flag items in this folder for follow-up, and have them move back
into the Inbox folder when the due date arrives?
When I mark items for follow-up, the only reminder I receive is the font
turns red. Is this normal?
