Move project server to another virtual server?

Early in our project server installation we installed it to the default web
site... (called http://curriculum).....we now want to run it from a new
virtual server called http://project

The virtual server has been created and had WSS added. We have also run
WSSWIZ and created the Project documents site on http://project without
problems.
I tried to move the projectserver virtual directory by simply exporting it
to a file and importing it to the new VS.

However when we try to go to http://project/projectserver we get a browser
message
'Cannot connect to configuration database'.

So we now have the confusing situtaiton that the project server itself is
under http://curriculum/projectserver but the associated documents are in
http:/project/sites/MsProjectDocuments

Pretty confusing for the users!
Is there an easy way to move projectserver from one VS to another on the
same server and keep it working?

You need to exclude Project Server and MSADC (I think that's right) from the
managed paths of WSS on the new server. Go into WSS central Admin and locate
the managed paths settings. You want to EXCLUDE these two paths.

WSS is intercepting the call to ProjectServer.
