I have project server 2003 and SQL server 2000 installed on same machine, users can access their project by using project professional if they and server are in same subnet just using machine's host name. Now I move the server to the different subnet, when users try to access this server by using IP, they can login. However, when users try to go further, like click the project or task, one window pops up, showing SQL server error something like SQL state xx, lets user sign in. The default SQL server field is server's hostname. After user type in IP address, they can keep on going, every next step needs user modify the SQL server field with IP and everytime the default SQL server is machine's hostname. Since we do not have DNS server within VPN, if user do not change this field, they will not be able to connect SQL server. How can I modify something and make everything goes smoothly.
Lots thanks in advance.
