Move the archive folder...

Hi, I have a NAS device alvays connected in a local network and I'd like to
move the folder with the database of outlook express from the computer to
the NAS.
Doing so I should be able to use outlook on every computer connected in the
lan with always the same archive.
Assumed that there will be only 1 computer accessing the database at the
same time, is there any reason for not doing so?
Obviously the speed of outlook will be decreased since accessing the
database via lan it's surely slower than having it on a drive on the local
computer.

Thanks.

Outlook Express has nothing to do with an Outlook Archive - a typo?
Only a single instance of Outlook can access a data file, archive or not.
MS doesnt support the use of a pst over a network, as it can lead to
corruption.

Well, in outlook express you can choose where to store the .dbx files
containing the database of messages and folders.
If I redirect this folder on a network disk with SMB support will it work?

In your OP you refered to both Outlook & Outlook Express,
Seeing the two are completely different, and have nothing in common, other
than being an email app, *exactly* which application are you refering to.
If its Outlook Express, you posted to the wrong group, this one supports
Outlook only.
