Moved Data base to new computer /no permission, HELP

Ted

We upgraded to a new computer. When we loaded our data
base on the new computer we no longer had any permissions
for the data base. Password protection had been used
before and we know the user name and password, but don't
remember what the usergroup name was on the former
computer. Is there any way to get into our data bese
now? There was a lot of data and we hope we don't have to
re-enter all of the data from paper records. I hope
someone can help us.

When you transfer a secured MDB to a new computer you also have to transfer
the MDW (workgroup) file that was used to secure it. If you don't still
have a copy of that then you're SOL unless you want to pay for some hacking
software.

Most people who attempt security do it wrong and leave some holes anyway so
you might be able to retrieve some stuff. See if you can import any of the
objects into a fresh file.
