Movie file Issues

I cannot get an mov file to play in PPT or windows media player. I know I do
not have the latest version of the player or is mov not compatible with any
Windows media players. When you insert a movie into ppt, the extension for
mov is there. Can this file be coverted to MPG? Austin Myers suggests
converting to mpg or avi.
Is it a codec issue?

Fritz,

mov files are QuickTime and are proprietary to Apple, Microsoft's
competition. <g> In order to use it you can A.) Convert it to a Windows
format or, B.) Call the QT player to play it.
