moving between computers

Tim Seims

Hi,

I'm running Office 2000 and want to copy my Access files on another
computer, but it has a slightly different default directory path. I can open
the database, but when I try to see the table I get a message that it is not
a valid path. To change the path according to Help requires Visual Basic
commands.

I'm not a developer. I just want to keep my personal records. I don't want
to learn Visual Basic. Isn't there an easier way to do such a simple thing
as change the default directory? Or work around it?

Thanks,

Tim Seims

Not sure what the path has to do with anything. Are these databases linked
to one another?

If so, just delete the linked table, then re add it (specifying the correct
path).

Or put the stuff in the same paths on each computer if you will switch back
and forth often.
