Moving Clip Art

I am using Word 2003
I always have a problem moving clip art (graphics) to where I want them on
the page. Sometimes I can use the buttons in the toolbar to right, center or
left align but If I just want to move it a couple of inches sideways or
up/down I have a problem. How can I move the graphics to where I want them?

You must change how they are interacting with the page.

If, when you select the image, the little "boxes" on the corners and the
midpoints connected by a black line are black -- then it is set inline with
text and your only option is to use the regular left-center-right alignment
options.

To change it -- right click on the image and select FORMAT and go to the
LAYOUT tab -- and select one of the 4 other options.

Once done, when you now select your image -- it will have little white boxes
on the corners/midpoints - and you can drag the image to wherever you want
it. Beware however -- it will sometimes "jump" on you!

Thank you for your response! It was very helpful and I appreciate it very
much.
