Moving email to subfolder - deletes itself...?

Hi,

Here is my environment: Exch 2k3 (sp2), all clients use Outlook 2k3 (cached
mode, all Office updates applied). Archive pst only...no other local pst.

Problem: I have two users (different departments) that have a problem when
moving email from the Inbox to a subfolder under the Inbox. When the email
is moved (either dragged and dropped or rt. click, move) the email will show
for about a day and then dissappears. I have tried searching the dumpster
for the email and it is not present. It appears to be performing some kind
of hard delete...

Has anyone heard of this? If so, any suggestions as to a fix?

Yes, here are the following settings:

Run Auto - 14 days
Delete expired emails checked
Archive old items
- 6 month setting

I have seen one or two other posts on non-MS groups, but I have yet to hear
a workaround/fix.
