Moving Existing Website from FP to EW

Hello all,

I assume I'll be able to move our existing website from FP to EW. If you've
done this already, how did it go? Did you lose anything?

I should mention that our website is built with FP 2000. Will that make a
difference? I really don't want to start over from scratch. If 2000 to EW
is a problem, would it help if I switched to FP 2003, then eventually
switched to EW?

There's really nothing to "move."
Simply open the existing site in EW.

There's nothing special you need to do. Just open the site in EW. The only
things might be if you're using a FrontPage theme, shared borders, or any
feature that requires the FrontPage Server Extensions. The best practice is
to back up the site first before opening it in EW and don't un-install
FrontPage until you're sure everything is working fine.

Looks like Jimco's working on something to help clean up...it comes with his
new book.

There are some great additions to my new book (see my sig line), but
I'm not doing anything to clean up FP code when you open in EW. In
fact, changes are usually pretty minimal and you won't HAVE to do
anything usually. All existing FrontPage components will still be
editable in EW, etc.
