Moving from 5.1a to X v10.1.4: Glossary->Autotext

I have continued to use Word 5.1a even though I have had Office X
since it came out. The reason is that I have not been able to transfer
5.1a Glossary to X Autotext.

I have several thousand glossary entries, all with coded keys which do
not work in X. I have opened the glossary in X and the entries show
in the dialog for Autotext. Some entries work sometimes. Others - esp
those with a 1 or 2 letter code do not work at all.

Any advice would be appreciated. I would like to move to X, so I don't
have to start Classic and I cannot add to the dictionary or create a
new glossary entry in Classic.
