moving outlook to another machine

Hi,

When moving outlook 2003 to another machine, is there any kind of utility
that will grab ALL outlook settings files (pst I can handle) and then allow
those to be reinstalled on another machine? Or does this need to be done
manually? I wasn't sure on that reading through other posts.

The Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard, plus your existing PST shold do the
job.

Brian - I was reading the MS KB about that wizard, and it saves a bunch of
stuff, resets stuff, etc. and there are no program specific settings. I'm
only needing to transfer Outlook 2003. I'm a bit afraid to restore to my
other machine as I'm not sure what it will do to all my office programs on
that machine. I have enterprise pro on both machines. Comments? Thanks!

Hello Randy!

It's very difficult to "copy" Outlook to a new mashine!
You could try to use the software GHOST, but you need to be very handy with
this software. Outlook is placing a lot off files around the disk, and to
just move or copy the arshive files or other files belonging to Outlook from
m1 to m2 is not working.

It's fairly easy, in my opinion, to transfer Outlook data from one machine
to another. Since I don't use more than four or five accounts, it's fairly
trivial to add them all in again my hand after creating the new mail profile

Brian,

I dove in and used the office wizard. It did a good job really. I had to
correct a few things, but it was better than doing it manually.
