Moving Project 2003 and Sharepoint Services

I have an old slow server I installed Project 2003 Server on and
Sharepoint Services as well. I need to move Project 2003 Server and
Sharepoint Services to a faster Server that is of course named
different than the old server. The databases for Project and
Sharepoint are on a seperate SQL 2000 server.

ProjectServer2066 - Project Server 2003 DB
Sharepointdb - Sharepoint Data DB
Wssdb - Sharepoint Config DB

Does anyone have a nice step-by-step guide on how to do this. I was
able to move it with the knowledge I have but the problem was I
overwrote the links between project server 2003 and sharepoint sites
that project uses. I backed out of my move and am still using the old
server.

Any help or advice on how best to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dear Chad S.

I had backed up and restored project server and WSS before but they
were on same server. But if you have differnt server and you want to
use the old sites. My suggestion is to go to Manage sharePoint sites
and after select a site Click Edit site address and manually change the
server name. Remember to restore your WSS and SharePoint DB bofore
that.

Hope this helps,

Regards

The problem with Clicking on Manage Sharepoint Sites in Project 2003's
admin interface is you can only change the site path and not the server
name...ie http://yourservername/sites/ProjectServer_103 - the
ProjectServer_103 is the only thing I can change and not the server
name.

Maybe you are talking about a different area than what I am in.

Thanks for the reply though.

Excellent, that looks like it will work perfectly. I think the one
thing I forgot was that Site Editor tool at the end of that MS Article.

Thanks alot Ray for pointing this out.

Have a great day!
