I have an environment where SQL Server currently lives on a W2k Server
machine. Project Server and PWA are currently the only SQL apps running
onthis machine. We are about to embark on a migration from this machine to a
brand new Win 2003 machine. Here's a snapshot of the migration:
Dump the Project SQL databases to disk and turn off the SQL Server services
on the current PWA/PS machine
- Build out the new SQL Server box. The OS will move from Win2K to Win2003.
SQL server remains at SQL 2000 standard edition. Install Project Server and
configure PWA on the new machine.
- Load the db dumps from the old PS machine to the new PS machine. I
understand the database sizes will have to be the same.
If anyone has any thoughts or pointers from their experiences, I'd love to
hear them.
Many thanks.
