answers to Erika. A sincere thanks for all the work you do and working with
newbies! This gets more detailed as you go for background. So your answers
are first. Some information is in all capitals, not meant to yell, but to
highlight changes in thought, folders, etc.
Erika - Here are I hope the answers to your question and detail as you need
it.

WHERE ARE THE SIDENOTES NOW?
Mostly under my notebook - labeled sidenotes to right, or general or
research or subcategories (or the name you use for onenote -sections or
subfolders) - but not filed in the correct folder that I need them to reside.
MY ATTEMPTS TO MOVE FOLDERS, PAGES, SIDENOTES, ETC. to different folders,
areas, etc. What I have tried:
1. FULL ONE NOTE OPENED
I right click (on subpage) to move and the "move button" is not highlighted
so can't move.
I go up in the media bar and move is not highlighted. I can't move them out
of that location to the file that is appropriate.
2. ONE NOTE IN TASK BAR
I tried the (icon) in taskbar and selected "the icon in bottom (third icon
button from left underneath open one note page) This when highlighted says
"MOVE PAGE TO"" then I selected "another section" and then went to the
folders list - tried clicking on any folder in the drop down of my folder
organization and the "move" button is never highlighted so I can't move from
there. When I click on the other two sections - Personal/General and
Research - seems to move them to a sidenotes page under Personal (but I can't
see this when opening Personal - I have to go to the drop down folder list to
find the sidenotes)
3. Just dragging things to see if that would work across folders. It didn't
work.
BACKGROUND OF ONE THING I"M TRYING TO DO.
Here are some of my folders - and some need to be reorganized into different
sections, ETC. Maybe what I'm trying to do is not what OneNotes is capable
of doing or I set up wrong. I'm a writer/author and I have 118
sidenotes...actually more like 250 now for a written assignment. Other work I
do is biz dev, research, etc. If I write a book - I know the outline first.
In research, your outline changes, or information needs to move if a company
merges with another, so the sidenotes on Company A need to be moved under
Company B.
I want to move each sidenote to the folder as appropriate, or move folders
sometimes or subfolders or sections or subpages, etc. as I organize things
differently based on changes in the industry, project direction, etc. (For
example in real life -you'd take files from one folder or copy them and
insert them in another folder as needed. If you misfied notes on one company
- you'd later move it to someplace else.

subfolders (or what onenote calls this)

I want certain news stories or background references and
research/attributions/graphics/ and quotes to go under the categories. Say I
get a quote with a CEO that is related to satellite interactive - I want it
under Satellite Developments and then his picture later received under his
quote. As well - as I research something - I realize that I have some
sidenotes or articles in the wrong folders.
