Moving some names/emails from one DL to a new DL

My Distribution List is apparently too big for the mail servers. I need to
create 3 or 4 smaller ones. Can I move a group of names from an existing DL
to a new DL....by highlighting the names I want to move then doing something??

Easier just to copy the DL, then remove names from it.
