Moving the PS Database

I'm trying to move a MS Project Server database from an "old" server to a
newer one. I've restored a backup and recreated the MSProjectUser and
MSProjectServerUser userid's.

My real question is this: I need to "hijack" the PS account of an admin.
No, I'm not trying to hack the data. I just need to be able to complete
this. I didn't have an account on the old server.

How do I go about doing this?

Instead of "hijacking" the Project Server account of someone who is a member
of the Administrators group, why don't you simply use the built-in
Administrator account that ships with the software? To log into PWA using
this account, enter a URL in your Internet Explorer in the form:

http://servername/projectserver/lgnsp.asp

In the User Name field, enter the word Administrator. In the Pasword field,
enter the password for the built-in Administrator account. If you do not
know the password, refer to the following FAQ to allow you to "hack" into
the database and clear the current password:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/forgotadminpassword.htm

Log into PWA to using the built-in Administrator account to confirm you do
have access to the system. Next, you will need to create a Project Server
login account in Microsoft Project Professional using the built-in
Administrator account. Refer to the following FAQ to set up that login
account:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/CreateAdministratorLoginAccount.htm

If you are going to serve as a resource on project teams, you should open
the Enterprise Resource Pool in Microsoft Project Professional and add
yourself to the pool. Be sure to include your Windows user account when you
add yourself to the pool, and the system will automatically create a PWA
user account for you that uses Windows user account authentication. From
there, you can log into PWA with Windows authentication. Hope this helps.

Dale, thanks for the help. This is exactly what I was looking for and
solved the problem.
