Moving the ribbons

André

Hello,
I'm working with a 25,5'' TFT and I want to have two A4-size pages in Word
07 fitting at 100% zoom onto the screen next to each other. This seems
theoretically possible, the screen is big enough.
The problem is that the ribbon bar is to broad (vertically) and takes too
much space from the screen's height. I know that I can make the ribbons
disappear with CTRL+F1, but that's a bit too much of a hassle, especially
when designing a document where I need to access the functions on the ribbons
regularly.

Now my QUESTION is: Is it possible (using scripts, macros, special
"normal.dot", plug-ins) to move the ribbon bar to the left side of the
screen, so that the buttons are somewhat arranged vertically ?

Has anybody got an idea how one could try to realize this using any given
programming technique?
Or do you think this is entirely impossible?

I appreciate any hint, idea, help very much!
Thank you,
Andre

Hi Andre,

You're right Ribbon is too broad fortunately it has auto-hide feature.
Isn't it good for you?

Hi Andre,

The Ribbon can't be moved to a different orientation. There is only one Word 2007 add-in that can create floating toolbars similar
to those in prior versions. http://www.toolbartoggle.com/
