I am using PowerPoint 2003. When I run a video file (MPEG/AVI/MWV) from
within PowerPoint (PPT) the video will run fine until it reaches the end. It
then locks up PPT an displays the message "MCI Error - The specified device
is now being closed." This all worked great up until a week ago. Now I can
not get it to clear up at all.
Of note: The movie plays fine in Windows Media Player and Media Player.
It will also run fine if I leave Windows Media Player running (launched
only, not actually running a video) in the foreground and PPT running in the
background.
If I leave Windows Media Player running in the background and PPT in the
foreground it will also crash.
I tried the Detect and Repair from the PPT help menu - no go.
I may have corrupted something - can anyone help me?
