mpeg does not play on laptop

Paul

I have PowerPoint presentations that contain .avi and .mpg files. They work
fine on my desktop computer (WinXP, Office XP), but not on a laptop. I tried
several laptops (all XP, but none worked. Copying back to desktop results in
a normal working presentation.
On the laptop, pressing two times PgUp and PgDwn and then clicking on the
..avi/.mpg does start the movie, so the laptop can read and load the movie
file.
The same happens when I design a presentation on the laptop (instead of
copying an existing presentation from the desktop computer).
I checkt all animation settings but they all are the same on the desktop and
the laptop.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Paul

What version of Win Media Player do you have on the
laptop & desktop?

Suggest checking out which version your desktop is using
and upgrade the laptop to it. Or upgrade both to Win
Media Player 9.
