mpg in PowerPoint won't run

I have several mpg movies that I successfully insert and run in PowerPoint.
Some, however, come in black and will not run at all. When I try to edit
these movies in Movie Maker I get a message that tells me I don't have the
required codec, even though the same movie will run in Windows Media Player.
I do notice that in Media Player I can't adjust any of the video controls
like I usually can. Any suggestions on how to deal with these clips?

It sounds as if these files do not fully meet the Mpg standard. How were
they created?

You may want to give PFCMedia or PFCPro a try. Either should be able to
convert the video for use in PowerPoint and they come as a two week free
trial.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
