mpg inserted into powerpoint 2007 pc won't play in ppt 2008 on imac

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) what do I need for the mpgs to play? Mpgs inserted in ppt 2007 on pc - simply won't play on the imac.

nope - they don't tell me what I need. the the files are mpg1 and quicktime wont play them during the show which it should. i've downloaded Flip4mac for wmv files - what do I need for mpg1?

I've googled everything but I can't find what codecs etc I actually need.

I think QuickTime should be able to handle mpg1, and QuickTime is what
PowerPoint uses for media objects.

Can you play the mpeg in QuickTime (outisde of PowerPoint)?
