MPP file opening in Project 2007

I am trying to open 2003 MPP local file in project professional 2007
and it is taking 10 min to open the file.Is there any reason it may
take long time? This file has 25+ custom fields .Any suggestion?

Ramesh:

After it does open, try saving as XML, and then reopen the file from the
XML. That may help.
