Hi,
We have implemented project server in our organization.
When i baseline a plan in MPP & published and the resources have updated the
actual for some task through project web access, after that i found that i
missed some task in planning. So i inserted the new task in between the plan
which has no predecessors and baseline the MPP & published and updated actual
for the task planned. The problem is when i inserted the task the remaining
plan has been changed which i haven’t noticed it and have updated the actual
works, now my schedule variations shows that i am not in control but in
actual i am in control.

Please help me how to resolve this issues and show that schedule is under
control in MPP

Thanks & Regards,
Ramesh

Hi Ramesh,

When you inserted the new task in your plan, what was the status of the
check box : "Autolink inserted or moved tasks" in the Schedule tab of Tools
/ Options in Project Pro ?
If it was checked, it created 2 Finish-Start links between the 3 tasks.

Hi,
The status of the check box : "Autolink inserted or moved tasks" in the
Schedule tab of Tools was checked. What to do if Finish-Start links between
the 3 tasks.

Thanks & Regards,

Ramesh,

You have to correct manually the wrong dependencies created by this
automatic feature. You can do that in the Predecessors column.
