MPX in 2003 and MindJet / Mindmanager.

I want to save a file in MPX format, but MSP 2003 doesn't let you. The tool
I'm using Mindjet MindManager X5 allows the import of MSP files but only in
MXP format - is there any way round this ( i.e. can I save as CSV then
convert to MXP or something ??).

Hanx.

Hello Dave,

You could buy the 98 version of MS Project. This version can generate MPX
files
From the 2003 version : File / Save As... / Project 98...

I'd worked that out myself.

I was just wondering whether MSP still had the ability to 'exchange' with
other applications( by some other method ) or whether MS had 'removed' that
functionality.

Hi

Phased out entirely ...

Project 2000 was the last Microsoft product that could even read an MPX file
on the PC

I have looked for converters but all that is listed is a conversion
application to make projects readable for a MAC.

I will post here if I find any "mini app" that might do the job ...

It's strange because MindManager specifies that one of the pre-req's is MSP,
so you'd think there must be some interaction - although that might be an
'export' from MM > MSP rather than the other way around.

If it comes down to it I may try and buy a 'cheepy' version of MSP'98 just
to create the MPX files ( seems like Microsoft have got it stitched up again
so you have to use Visio ).

Project 2003 can *read* a mpx file

My notes on this are a disgrace
