Donna

I Have MS 2000.
I have a disk "Filing and Computer Database Projects"
Second Edition for MS Access 97 or MS Access 2000 by
Jeffrey R Stewart and Nancy M Melesco; for an Information
Management class that I am taking in college .
The instructions tell me to:

open the windows explorer and click on the "D" drive.

select the fields and copy them to the appropriate folder
on the computers hard drive.

Select each file, right click on and choose properties.
Under attributes select the general tab and uncheck READ
ONLY.

THIS IS WHERE I RUN INTO A PROBLEM. I GET A MESSEGE THAT
SAYS IT CANNOT APPLY THE ATTIBUTES.
I NEED TO USE THIS DISK NEXT WEEK FOR CLASS BUT I CANT
GET IT TO WORK.

Hi Donna,

Are you right-clicking on the files in the CD-ROM in the D: drive? These
are permanently read only and their attributes cannot be changed. You
should be right-clicking the files in the folder on your computer's hard
drive.
