How do I prevent users from opening the database
exclusively and locking out other users? These particular
users do not have permissions to open the database
exclusively, I am clueless as to how they are able to do
it. Please help.

If the first user is opening the database just fine and all others are
locked out, this might be a network permissions issue. Make sure that your
users have Full permissions (Read, Write, Create, Modify, Delete, Execute)
on the folder in which the database resides on your server.

And, just for the heck of it, check Tools|Options|Advanced to be sure that
the Default Open Mode is set to Shared.

Thank You very much. I had to change the permissions as
well as change it from exclusive to shared. Your a life
saver.
