MS Access 2007 Startup Template screen freezes

P

Pete D.

I have tried this on a few computers and all have the same issue. When
starting access without opening a file it brings up the standard templates
screen nomally. But if I select a category of templates, then a different
category, and finally a third one the list of templates stops displaying.
At this point the template area of the screen is blank and waiting or
selecting other categories makes no difference. The computers I tried this
on have different configurations. One wireless IBM notebook and office pro
plus package from my work with SP1 and developer. One home desktop on cable
network and office enterprise package I bought w/SP1 w/developer. A third
one is my desktop at work office pro plus connected to highspeed network
with SP1 no developer. I have searched and not found anything about this
problem. Has anyone got a solution or noticed this behavior. It really
doesn't have a lot of impact on using access but I do look at templates to
see what is new every so often. Access still works fine if I open a file
(can't select a template at this point). Also simply closing access and
reopening redisplays the templates but again changing categories more than
twice produces the exact same results. Forgot to mention, all are WinXP
systems with latest patches. Haven't tried it on Vista yet.
