MS Access 95 and Windows XP

Recently I transferred MS Office Professional 95 (this is version 7)
to mu new system running under Windows XP Home ed.
Word and Excel run without problems, but starting Access results in a
message "Out of memory". Since the system has 1024 mb of RAM the
amount of memory can hardly be the problem. Which leaves me with the
question: What is the problem??
Is there anyone who can offer a solution ??

You actually can receive this error with MS Access 95 (and 97) on machines
with a Gig or more of memory when you have the original installation, which
is your situation.

Here's an another KB article in addition to Beth's citation that
specifically addresses the issue with Access 97, but it also applies to
Access 95.

To resolve you need to update the original jet engine distributed with
Access 95. There are two files that you should download an apply for that
version of Access (although it is HIGHLY recommend that you upgrade Access
as well.)

Those files are:

msjtwng (update to the ms jet engine)
vba232a (update to the vba engine for Access 95 to eliminate spurious
crashes)

These files are no longer available on MS' web based download site because
the products have gone out of support, but they are still available from the
public Software Library on their FTP site.

Navigate to:

ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/softlib/mslFiles

Where you will find them.
