MS Access Export from Project

We keep each project in our IT department in a separate Project file. All
project files share a common resource file.

How can I join these separate Project files into one summary file from which
I can export an Access database that will contain all Resources, Assignments
and Tasks as recorded in the Project files? I have tried copy/paste, insert
project, etc., but cannot get the resultant summary file (which looks good,
as far as seeing everything in MS Project) to produce an Access export file
that contains any Resource or Assignment information. I can see that the
Access database created from the MS Project export is prepared for such a
process, as it keeps track of Project ID and Project Name to separate the
Tasks and Assignments from independent projects. I need the whole thing to
enable creation of files and reports across the enterprise (we will not have
the enterprise version for some time).

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You have discovered the Master and Subproject concept using the Insert
Project. This is simply inserting a pointer to the file and links are
active. When in the Master file, you File/Save As an Access mdb file,
what happens? What is the error message (if any)?

Do you really need Access mdb file? It's a complex database. Can't you
do you reporting of the 'enterprise' out of the master project file?
