MS Access files and Macs

I fount the following over at the Apple.com user forums concerning Access
files and converting the data to a Mac-usable format:
Since there is no direct way to open a MS Access file on the Mac, I can offer
you the suggestion of installing MySQL (www.mysql.com) which is an awesome SQL
DB available to MacOSX thanks to it's UNIX core. MySQL doesn't have as
"pretty" a front-end as Access does, but PHPMyadmin (www.phpmyadmin.net)
offers excellent control over it. You will have to have PHP installed to run
PHPmyadmin. An excellent PHP installation can be found at
www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/

Anyway, after you install the above software (did I mention it's all free!)
there is a utility to convert MS Access to MySQL databases which can be found
at www.convert-in.com This is not free, but I believe it's around $40 for the
standard version.

Hope this helps some of you.
