MS Access question

I'm trying to find the answer to a very basic question: Can a MS
Access application be run on a Mac? I haven't found anything so far
to indicate that it can. Any info/advice would be appreciated.
Thanks. :)

Access is not part of MacOffice. It can be run on an Intel-based Mac
under Windows (i.e., via Bootcamp, Parallels, etc.).

In addition to John's insights, on a PPC Mac you can run Access in Virtual
PC 7/Win XP - not as fast as you might prefer depending on how beefy the
processor & RAM as well as the complexity & size of the .mdb you work with.
I do it all the time on a G5 Dual 2 GHz/1.5 GB & find it to be "acceptable"
for design & testing purposes. If you're interested in multi-user access,
though, forget it:) There are other Mac-native db apps which can share data
& interact on a n/w.

Thanks. Does Virtual PC require an Intel-based Mac?

No. As a matter of fact, Virtual PC will not run *at all* on Intel Macs
since it has been designed for PowerPC-based Macs only. If you have an Intel
Mac, have a look at the alternatives mentioned by JE.

Hi,

In case all you need to do is get the data from an mdb file you can use ODBC
(Open Database Connectivity).

Actual technologies is my personal favorite

Another company with ODBC drivers is OpenLink
http://uda.openlinksw.com/odbc/
