MS-Access ?

Tony

I have just got a new laptop and I am having a slight issue with Access.
When I open a Access database is will appear in the Windows Taskbar.
When I select and open a table within that database it will appear as a
second object in the Windows Taskbar.

How can I control the Windows Taskbar so that only one iitem is shown.

The reason for asking is that I some times need several different databases
open at the same time and need to switch between them. If each database has
two items in the taskbar, the taskbar fills and is harder to work with.

With any mdb open...
Tools, Options, View tab and uncheck 'Windows in Taskbar'
That's an application setting, not specific to the database.

Joan, Is this feature lost in Access 2007? I want the buttons in the
taskbar for open items but can't see a way to enable them.

I don't have 2007 installed, but sources tell me that you can find it by
hitting the MS Office button (top left) and choosing Access Options - it
should be somewhere in there.

Hi David,

As with just about any feature in Access, there are people that really like
it, and others that don't. For example, I really didn't like this feature,
however, my co-author really did enjoy this feature during the design phase
of database creation/development. :)
