MS Document Imaging Settings

Hi Victor,

The 'import' setting in Tools=>Options=>Other
will set a default for when you print to the
Office 2003 Document Image Writer, it may,
depending on your scanner/OCR outside app also
work for documents you open in Document Imaging 2003
through that method.

If you open a file from disk then saving back to that
same folder is what the app generally does.

==========
Is there are way tp assign a defaut drive and folder for the 'save as' menu
item?>>

That doesn't solve the customer's problem. Microsoft Fax server sends a copy
of the fax by email to a user. The user opens the fax in the email which
Outlook stores in the 'Temporary Internet files' area. The end user then
must navigate around the network to get to the area where faxes need to be
saved. Too many clicks, too much trouble...so the user doesn't follow the
rules at that time or saves to the wrong place.

This is common problem with Microsoft Apps and many accounting Apps. Users
always want to be able to save to different areas from different apps. The
option is available thru Word and Excel and a registry key hack is available
for Outlook. What about Imaging?

Hi Victor,

The output destination is in the MS Office Document
Imaging input method settings, import and in
the scanning portion of MS Office Document Imaging
you can change the destination in any of the presets
or create a new preset.

I don't recall seeing a registry setting for a
separate save to setting.
