Using Word 2000 and Equation 3.0
When creating an equation the characters overlap and the
top is truncated. I have checked all the defaults, the
fonts and the printer.
What else can I do?

There are very likely FAQ articles covering this at www.dessci.com, the Web
site of Design Science, which furnishes Equation Editor to Microsoft.

"gking", can you be more specific? What, exactly, did you check on the
printer? More importantly, what fonts are specified in Equation
Editor's Style/Define dialog?

The question was "what fonts are specified in Equation Editor's Style/Define
dialog?" That is, choose Define from the Style menu and report what fonts
are selected.

Fonts selected:
Times New Roman and Symbol.
I have matched these to a computer where it displays

Two suggestions here:

1. Follow the instructions at
<http://www.dessci.com/en/support/TSN/TSN77.htm>.

2. If that doesn't help, download and install the trial version
of MathType (the professional version of the Equation Editor in
Microsoft Office). All features will be available for 30 days,
but the product will work indefinitely. After the trial period,
you will still be able to edit documents created during the trial
period, even if you used features that were disabled after 30
days. There is a download link on our home page (link in my
signature).
