MS Excel 2000

Spreadsheet has comments. One of the comments seems to be
the problem. When this spreadsheet is opened in Windows
2000, the message appears that Excel has to be closed
immediately. When the same spreadsheet is opened in
Windows 98, the message does not appear until trying to do
something with the comment itself. It then makes a
repaired copy of the sheet without the proper formatting.
When checking further for a reason, this is the
information that we receive:

Microsoft Excel File Repair Log

Errors were detected in file 'C:\WINDOWS\Application
Data\Microsoft\Excel\A_GAS (version 1).xls'
The following is a list of repairs:

Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were not
possible. Excel attempted to recover your formulas and
values, but some data may have been lost or corrupted.

Anyone have an answer?
