I have MOS Master certification in Office 2003, which included Excel 2003
testing (along with some others).
With enough study and practice, you'll pass the test. What are you using as
study materials? I brushed up on the needed skills by working through an
on-line course offered by Skillsoft/netG made available by my company. I
think one of the better books is probably the Microsoft "Step by Step" - look
for MSFT or other books marked on the cover as being study material for the
exams.
The test is fairly comprehensive and covers most routine things as entering
formulas, formatting cells, building a chart or two and a pivot table or two.
It doesn't go into VBA farther than simply recording a macro.
One thing about the test: follow the instructions exactly - if it says to
use the mouse, use the mouse; if it says to use menu toolbars, use them. If
you don't do what the test is expecting it may very well count a correct
result wrong due to the way you arrived at it.
As for easy? Not so much. I remember when I got my '97 certification, I
first walked in 'dry' and flunked that one! Studied up some and retested and
passed. For 2003, I studied up first and passed first time I took it.
