MS Excel Crashes other programs like Filemaker Pro 6.0 under panther by
copying a couple of cels then going to Filemaker. Filemakers solution keep
the clipboard open.

The most unstable product and one of the most pricey,,,until recently now
it's just crappy.

If the other program is crashing, it is a bug in the other program. Under
MacOS X there is no way for one program to make another program crash. If
the other program is getting data from the first program, it need to
sanity-check the data before attempting to use it.

In short -- Excel may indeed be producing bad data (although I don't know
this). But Filemaker definitely has a bug. The Filemaker people are
trying to pass the buck--don't buy it.

You always have OpenOffice available as an option. It's free, and
compatible with MS Office.
