MS FrontPage 2003 and XP Home Edition

I have FrontPage 2000 and it won't work on XP Home Edition because it says it
can't find the MS Web Server. According to what I have found you can't
install a MS Web Server with XP Home Editon (also I was using it on this
computer for years, until I had to redo my computer). What I would like to
know is: If I upgrade to MS FrontPage 2003, is it compatible with the Windows
XP Home Editon?

FP2000, FP2002 and FP2003 all will work under Windows XP Home using a disk-based webs.

Can you explain to me how I can get my FP2000 to work with my Windows XP Home
Edition. I don't know what you mean by disk-based webs. I have a web site
that I built with it, but now it's out in no-man's land, because I can't get
my FP2000 to work now so I can publish to it.

1. Create a folder on your HD, example C:\mywebsite
2. Open this folder via FP File | Open Web menu
3. Let FP convert the folder to a web.
4. Do File Menu | Open Web and enter http://www.yourdomainname.com and login info
5. File Menu | Publish Web
6. Enter destination as C:\mywebsite

The trouble is when I try to install my copy of MS FP 2000, I get this message:
unable to access configuration for microsoft personal web server.
Then when I finish installing and click on the FP icon I get this message:
Load Failed-Cannot load "fp4Autl.dll". and:
FRONTPAGE.EXE-APPLICATION ERROR
The instruction at "0x67f6b487" referenced memory at "0x00000030". The
memory could not be "read".

Do a custom install and un-check the extensions, etc.

From the custom install this is what I see;
X-Server Extensions Resource Kit
X-Server Extensions Admin Forms
X, meaning not available.
Everything else is marked "run from computer".

Make sure you also select and extensions as well.

Did you uninstall all previous installs first?

....and if the personal web server is still installed, it needs to be
uninstalled.
