MS Groove Enterprise Services Relay versus Public Relay

D

Don

I've got a dozen users running Office Groove 2007 and I'm guessing we're
"relaying" through the public relays that Microsoft runs. I don't need any
of the administration tools that MS Groove Enterprise Services offers,
however, I'm wondering if the relays that are part of the Enterprise Services
offer any better performance than the public relays. Thoughts, comments,
actual experiences appreciated, thanks.

It is primarily one of cost - deploying your own servers (Relay servers also
needs the Management Server) has additional costs (64b hardware, Op Sys, etc).
Having your own Groove infrastructure does permit you to have more
customization. network security, user policies, etc..

Don -
Since the public relay servers are used more, it would affect the
performance. My response above was about the additional benefits one may have
by running private servers.
Feel free to drop me an email (address below), if you would like to discuss
more.

Thanks for the clarification btw public versus private. I don't need to run
my own private servers, so I'll look into Microsoft's Enterprise Services.
Appreciate the help.
