MS Office 2003 e-mail is not working at all

Chris

My MS Outlook e-mail on the notebook quit working upon return from
travel/vacation. While on travel I used the notebook for e-mail using
NetZero (dial up), then went to Hong Kong using Broadband. No issues. Upon
return I deleted the NetZero program from the computer, updated my NIS with
live update, tried to log on to e-mail and nothing.
I have attempted many times to re-enter the POP3 information. I continue to
get the message to check that the port and SSL information is correct.
Settings match/mirror the upstaris PC (using wireless connection). I am
stumped. Any help out there?

Did you allow Outlook in your NIS settings as an approved outgoing service?

Milly,
As best as I can tell it is set to allow Outlook as an approved outgoing
service, though I have not found those words exactly just yet.

Make sure you corrected the Connections in Tools, Options to "Never dial a
connection." You are using a LAN now so check those settings too.

Thanks, and that setting is correct as well. It still will not send the test
msg and I get the SSL and port message as usual. Still frustrated.

Check your settings in Norton - seems that a recent liveupdate causes some
problems - ensure it is set to allow Outlook access to the Internet. Better
yet, dump it altogether!!

Yes, if i turn it off I can send and receive. Amazing, you guy's are great.
Now I just ned to figure out how to make that thing work. Anyone out there
that can help with that, even though it is not an MS product, it would be
appreciated. I'm working on it now.

All, thanks for the help, your terrific. Turning the personal firewall in
NIS to Low vice medium allows the e-mail to work. I have it from here,
thanks again.
