MS Office 2003 .pst files

[Office 2003 .pst file will not open]

I get the following message when tring to open my personal .pst file:
"unable to expand the folder. The flie c\xxx.pst could not be accessed. The
file is 9GB (yes I now know it is too big). How can I open the file? Will
the Slipstick product work?

Tried running scanpst.exe against the data file?

If it is a unicode .pst file, you would have no need of the .pst crop tool.
In task manager, how many instances of outlook.exe are running? If you shut
them all down, can you then open Outlook?

Your PST file is oversized. Microsoft Outlook 2002 and earlier
versions limit the size of Personal Folders (PST) file to 2GB.
Whenever the PST file reaches or exceeds that limit, you will not be
able to open or load it any more, or you cannot add any new data to
it. This is called oversized PST file problem. More detailed

You can use Advanced Outlook Repair to solve the problem, by either
converting it into Outlook 2003 format ( http://www.datanumen.com/aor/problems/convert-2gb-pst.htm

9 GB size for an Outlook 2003 PST file is very large though not abov
the file size limitation can arise performance issue and this is proble
faced by you. If the problem is not sorted out soon, it may make the PS
file corrupted and thus its data inaccessible. You need nothing but
'split PST' (http://www.splitpstfile.com) tool to sort the issue, i
efficiently divides them into smaller sizes in a way that it can wor
independently. This not only solves the problem but also avoi
corruption to a considerable extent
