MS Office 2003 would'nt install after backup-restore

Hello,

New C-disk & O/S replacement (Win 2000 Prof.)

Files restored from previous Windows BackUp Utility

Some Applications restored OK some including Office require
re-installation. Programs seems intact in C:\Program Files but on
launching from Shortcuts on desktop dialog box ==> "Available only for
installed Applications", similar admonishment when launched directly or
from Start>Run>Program Files>Microsoft Office>....>*.exe

On installing, progress up to CD Key input OK, then returns error
message that "source is corrupt". But the source is not (not both
original disk & backup simultaneously)

Tried removing Office from Add/Remove Program but it is not listed,
renamed Microsoft Office folder as well but that did not seem to have
any effect. Used Regedit and removed
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office but that did not seem to
help any either.

Just restored registry etc.

Any suggestions welcomed

Well I thought I did, just following the prompted directions;
How would I know if I did? Is there something i could look for?
I think I did recall something about "successful" or "successfully
completed" showing up.

You download/install the tool, then run it
It will open listing apps installed by the wininstaller
Remove all refferences to MS Office2003 or its components
Close
Then install Office2003 again
